There are several holds in the Iron Holds, each lorded over by the Silverman clan, with a thoroughly well maintained clan hierarchy, leading back to the Az Thrumm at the Ferrous Gate. 
Each Citadel hosts a balanced mix of the various Banrumm, who in turn hold their primary residences in their expansive holdings at the Ferrous Gate.

Militant service is a point of pride in the Iron Holds, with their proximity to the Barbarian Hordes to their north east, and the constant troubles of border skirmishes.  The Hold provide military assistance to the all the border provinces in the north east, notably holding the river in Geminina Inferior with the Aermite Legions on six occasions that earned them a formal tribute from the reigning monarch.
