The First Step

The oldest elves tell of a great gathering of the gods-of-old upon the peak of a lost mountain range to the west of the once-great king of cities. The mountains, known as the World Spine, reach high into the night, preventing the horrors of the cursed western lands from creeping into the great kingdom. Here on the highest peak sits a circle of stones marking the spot upon which the gods would meet to collectively pass judgment on their own. Here, enforced by-laws more ancient than the gods, violent action is completely forbidden and no power has ever been able to pierce the shield that prevents the site from remote observation. 
It is only possible for mortals to find the site by physically traveling to the location on foot, the divine magic that infuses the site is completely untraceable by magic. Words, describing the site fade as soon as mortal eyes no longer observe them unless illuminated in gold leaf. Any mortal who steps within the circle of stones may directly speak to the gods and they may speak directly to them. Many who find their way here have walked away filled with divine power and mandates to change the world.

Geography

Situated on the highest peak of the World Spine mountain range west of Citadel. It is a slow, but gentle climb to the peak via winding forested paths to the grey standing stones found at the summit. Snow can often be found surrounding the open-air ring of vertical sarsen standing stones, but it never accumulates on the stones or in the interior of the circle they create.

Localized Phenomena

For most of the year, the temperature is cool surround the stones, leading to snow often accumulating around the ring of stones. However, within the inner circle, the temperature is always comfortable. There are even stories of lost travelers finding their way (or being led) to the stones and waiting out vicious storms in complete safety.
