Personal history

Craedan is the only remaining member of the original crew that stole the Valiant from the drydock in Hightower over a century ago. He's served as its captain a few different times over the years, but much prefers his role as navigator when he can entrust the job to someone else. Unfortunately there isn't anyone right now. These days he tends not to talk about the old days, preferring to let the youngsters make their own stories aboard the Valiant. Not that he objects to being a part of those stories himself, Craedan may be old, but his elf blood keeps him plenty virile. It's been a long time since the Valiant has docked in a port where Craedan hasn't had lovers of several different generations. Craedan had a ship-name once upon a time, but he apparently hated it, so when no one was left who remembered it, he was just as happy to let it die. He's been given a few since, but has steadfastly refused to answer to anything but "Craedan." Between that and the respect he has as the last of the original crew, and a former or current captain, he's the only one aboard nearly always called by his actual name.

Education

Like many elves of a wilder bent, Craedan was never much for sitting in a classroom, and is likely one of the least formally educated members of his crew. Which is saying a lot, given that they're pirates. Luckily not only has Craedan always been inquisitive and learned quickly on his feet, he's had centuries to build up knowledge through experience, which he much prefers. Many a bounty hunter has underestimated his intelligence and few have lived to regret it.

Accomplishments & Achievements

The Valiant was the pride of a people who almost entirely concern themselves with travelling the sea. Even over a hundred years later, there are few vessels ever put to sea that could be its match. All that is to say, it was extraordinarily well protected. Craedan is the only one alive who remembers stealing it, and doesn't say much about the details, but the mere fact that it was done lent him a prodigious reputation even before he began making one for himself on the seas.
