Ruins of Dawnhaven Keep

Dawnhaven Keep was built during the Dawn Era as one of the many great bastions of the era. With the coming of the Dark One and the first Shadowmarches it was converted into a fortress to hold back the darkness. Its location meant the fortress city was used to protect the southern pass that led to the Southern Kingdoms as well as connection the Kingdoms of Thalavis and Esperia.
Unfortunately during the early Shadowmarches of the Twilight Era, an unexpected attack came that struck the Southern Kingdoms from below. The force struck so quickly that before any defence could be mounted the Southern Kingdoms had fallen, and Dawnhaven Keep was surrounded and isolated. Eventually a relief force broke through the ranks of darkness, but they came too late, Dawnhaven Keep was set aflame, the citizens within slain and the once shining remnant of the Dawn Era snuffed out. Sentinal Tower was constructed to protect what remained of the usable southern pass, everything else abandoned to history.
Some brave adventuring parties still venture out to Dawnhaven Keep, all seeking to find lost treasures or knowledge from the Dawn Era. Those that have survived the horrors around the ruins report of strange glowing lights coming from within some of the structures. No one who has gone to investigate the lights has returned, so the nature of the lights and of the other horrors within will for now remain unknown.
