Moragga

"Two days out from the Echoless Halls. Further into the wilds than any other Pavilion agent has ever been. The fog has only been growing thicker, and for a while I thought we might have lost our way. But we found unmistakable signs of civilization, though nothing on our maps indicates any settlements nearby. By the Twelve, our expedition may not have been pointless after all."
  • Rina, agent of Kuribu
  • Government

Moragga was run by a small theocracy devoted to the ancient religious figure known as the Sustainer.

    Industry & Trade

Moragga was the westernmost city of the empire of Perim, and was the closest Perim city to the mountain range that divided the continent. As such, it was a gateway between Perim and the rest of Khasrana. Most of their trade was in crops from the farmlands on the western side of the mountains, which they bought with the riches of the Perim wilds.

    Infrastructure

The civilization of Perim had an expansive and advanced system of infrastructure, and Moragga was no exception. Sturdy roads, aqueducts, and hospitals were all part of everyday life in Perim, and Moragga even had luxuries such as zoos and botanical gardens.

    History

The last age of Perim saw rapid advances in technology and medicine. The ensuing population boom in turn led to an age of expansion of the Perim empire. From their capitol in the eastern reaches of the continent, Perim settlers struck out into the wilds, hoping to make a new home for themselves.   Many Perim cities were founded during this period, but none grew larger than Moragga. At its zenith, it was a prosperous trade city, and rivaled Perimsul in wealth and cultural influence. White stone roads led into the city from all directions, and sturdy walls protected the Moraggans from the beasts of the wilds. The brightest minds of Perim converged in the city and birthed the field of Perim alchemy. A dazzling tower reached into the clouds in recognition of the triad of Perim gods and in service of the Sustainer.   But almost overnight, the entirety of Perim civilization vanished.   After the fall of Perim, Moragga remained uninhabited for nearly a millennium. Its facilities fell into ruin, and its knowledge faded into obscurity as the wilds reclaimed what once was theirs. Today, Moragga is blanketed in an almost impenetrable fog that desperately clings to the ruins. A population of faeries has taken up residence in the ruins in recent years, traveling from place to place using enchanted rings of flowers and mushrooms that they have carefully cultivated.   However, the Shepherd's Spire - the tower devoted to the Sustainer - remains untouched by the fae. Its secrets are guarded by a complex mechanism that can only be disabled by someone with an understanding of Perim alchemical principles. But with the field of Perim alchemy being all but forgotten, it is not likely that the Spire's secrets will be revealed any time soon.
