Lumaera

Lumaera was conjured on the Daru plains of the Dominarian continent of Otaria by an esteemed and powerful cleric to serve as a partner and bodyguard to his apprentice, Nuriel.
Together, the two became embroiled in a journey to defeat another wizard who had managed to perfect the craft of summoning angels, but along the way Nuriel was killed. Lumaera completed the task given to her at the cost of her own angelic nature. Alone and stripped of her divinity, Lumaera lived for a time as a mercenary on the plains. One day, however, Nuriel inexplicably returned, and told her how he had gained the ability to travel between worlds. He vowed to restore her to her full power and claim revenge on the person who robbed her of her true potential.
Their struggle took them across worlds, and Nuriel fulfilled his promise to her. The two became caretakers of an orphaned world, which they renamed Kouria. Nuriel became lord of Kouria, while Lumaera led the military forces of the world. For two centuries they prospered, but over time Nuriel grew detached and distant. With only Lumaera leading the people, society began to fracture but she soon won the people's respect. Suddenly, the world itself began to show signs of instability, sparking a rebellion and leading to a clash between the people of Kouria and the military might of Lumaera and Nuriel.
Lumaera had enlisted two travelers to help stabilize the realm - Aidan Brightflame and Antora Kural. The two were adept and capable, but quickly grew to distrust Nuriel's motives. While Aidan wanted to enact his own plan for the good of the people, Antora had grown attached to Lumaera and wanted to preserve as much of Kouria as she could. Ultimately, Lumaera broke from Nuriel and joined Antora and Aidan in serving the people. The mages had found a way to teleport massive amounts of people onto other worlds, and they took the Kourian refugees to an idyllic place Lumaera had come to love - Bant. Lumaera helped the refugees integrate into Bant's society, eventually becoming a knight of Valeron herself.
Lumaera is powerful and confident. She knows her strengths and her weaknesses, making no excuses for either. In her youth she was somewhat of a showoff, but as she grew and learned the truths of life she became determined and resolute. When she decides something must be done, no one can stop her from accomplishing it. Very few people have had the privilege of being listened to by Lumaera, with Nuriel being the only one for most of her life. Antora was Lumaera's first new friend in a century, and Antora's effect on Lumaera was enormous. In her tenure as the queen of the realm, Lumaera had become detached and disdainful towards the Kourian people. Antora made her realize this, however, and during the crisis Lumaera shifted from the enemy of the people to their greatest defender.
