Renderak Castle

Renderak Castle is a fortification along the eastern shore of the Ice Sea, near the mouth of the Syblid. It was constructed in 47 LC by a human contingent of the army of the Kingdom of Labar, under the leadership of Renderak. Renderak was a veteran of the War of the Sisters and had been instrumental in defeating forces allied with Morsyana in Arkos Plains.
Renderak Castle was built to monitor the region around Qosid and the Ice Sea, at a time when the Kingdom of Laeryll and therefore regional security was weakened. The castle was upheld by humans and, later, gnomes, but fell into disarray during the third century, after which it was left deserted for centuries.
In the early ninth century, the Fuddy Estate obtained a deed for the castle and its surroundings. The Fuddy Estate was already in the business of scavenging the Ice Sea for freshwater and was looking to expand. Renderak Castle was ideally positioned to be a drop-off point for frozen plates, as well as a capturing place for rainwater.
The Fuddy Estate constructed its industry on the grounds of the castle, but had to avoid the ruins of the castle, as workers claimed it was haunted. Renderak became a sizable water collection, which exports large volumes potable water to Baloodi, to quench the thirst of Labarean forces traversing the Northern Arm.
