Dollhouse Diamond

The Dollhouse Diamond is an ancient piece of jewelry that was gifted to Basonda of Zhai in 423 LC. In 441 LC, she took it with her when she moved to Prydisyrr.
The diamond is a nearly colorless, brilliantly cut piece. At first sight, it seems like the diamond has an impurity at its center, but closer inspection reveals tiny humanoid figures embedded into the material. When magnified, the figures can be seen living their lives within the diamond.
Generations have been fascinating by the display and through careful observations and meticulous notekeeping it has become apparent that the figures inside of the diamond are either very long-lived or immortal: the oldest documentation dates back 1100 years and describes exactly the small, humanoid creatures that can be seen to this very day.

Origins

The origin of the Dollhouse Diamond has been lost in time. Basonda received the diamond from a dwarf trader, who himself had procured it at a market in Kikokomary. Historians have found it was referenced in the log of a traveler who visited Khatwa in Uktaria in 200 BLC.

Curse

Rumors say the diamond itself is cursed and causes misfortune to the place where it is kept. Indeed, Khatwa experienced a great fire in the second century BLC, and in the early fifth century a meteor struck the Lloridan area that is currently known as Bathaniel Park. As the idea spread that this was somehow due to the Dollhouse Diamond, there were attempts to prevent Basonda from bringing the diamond to Dathyll. Yet nothing clearly disastrous happened to Prydisyrr, Dathyll or the kingdom at large when Basonda brought the diamond with her.

Current whereabouts

The Dollhouse Diamond is currently kept in the House of Keepers in Prydisyrr, where it is displayed among other royal heritage. Foreign politicians and diplomats visiting the House usually make a point of visiting the legendary diamond, which is on display with an embedded magnifying glass, so that the life of the creatures in the diamond can be carefully observed.
