Traticean Emperor

The Emperor is the ruler of the Traticean Empire, and often the most powerful individual therein. He has almost absolute power- and nothing short of the full Senate rejecting his orders with military backing can provide any effective resistance against him.

Requirements

The Emperor needs to be the firstborn (or eldest surviving) son of the Previous Emperor. In the event that the Emperor has no male children, a Succession occurs and a new Emperor is chosen to begin a new dynasty.

Appointment

In ideal conditions the Emperor is crowned after the death of his father. He is taken to the throne room in Val Calvus in a ceremony presided over by the Speaker of the Senate, who places the crown on the new Emperor's head, and the Hierarch of the Imperial Church who places the robe of office on his shoulders.

Responsibilities

The Emperor is responsible for the Empire. All of the Empire. He must ratify or deny laws from the Senate (or his own decisions,) decide where and how the Legions are to fight and for what cause, and plan diplomatic decisions. It is an incredible weight to place on one person.

Benefits

For all the weight an Emperor must bear, he has incredible power and wealth- every asset, every soldier, every ship and horse in the Empire is his to command. Should an Emperor wish, he can throw the entirety of this at any problem or decision.   Additionally, the Emperor has complete and unrestricted access to the Imperial Colleges, giving him access to a staggering amount of knowledge.

Accoutrements & Equipment

The Emperor traditionally wears a golden crown crafted to look like pair of curved laurel branches, light and very exquisitely crafted, with a small stone set in the center of each leaf. He is also presented with a crimson robe trimmed at the sleeves and hem with gold thread.   In the event that the Emperor decides to go to war, the crown is placed in the Imperial Vaults and he wears instead a modified helmet with the laurels gilded on, and his cloak is replaced by a gold-embossed breastsplate and crimson cape.
