Reulinn (roo-lin)

Qualifications

These individuals are chosen from a young age and groomed for this position. They're selected based on magical potential. Several possible candidates are selected and begin training. As their training progresses these candidates are weeded out until only one is left. This final candidate receives much more intensive training at the tower itself. They live and work alongside their mentor until the day they either retire due to extreme old age or die. They continue to use their birth name.

Duties

Reulinn are the governors for their region of Salcreria. They mediate disputes, oversee regional defense and trade, and ensure that taxes are distributed correctly. It's not expected for the reulinn to know how to do all these things; as such, they have advisors who are experts in these fields. The final decision is always up to the reulnn. Only a keturi or the queen herself can override them.
