The First Age
The longest era by far, starting at the creation of the universe and lasting up to the death of the Progenitors. It is the predecessor, the one that shaped the galaxy everyone lives in, but it was also an age without magic. A time when people thought they were free and then discovered they weren't, at all. The First Age is the only era counted backwards.-

The Second Age
Freed from the Progenitors which hung over them as a dark cloud, the people of the galaxy move to form a shared society, growing as more of the galaxy is explored. Magic begins to show up and is treated as something extraordinary, with its wielders placed on a pedestal, elevated above their peers. Unfortunately, this structure also keeps them special, and separate. It distances them from the people, more than their magic ever could.-
