Mannimulus, King of Wurms

The tale of wurms was always a myth told to children before bedtime, a tale of ancient Kelt when trees reached as tall as the barrier blanketing the realm in a comforting darkness. But one day a druid of high esteem tampered with the delicate nature of godlike beings and was casted down into a null zone below Kelt, never to be heard from again. This man was given the name Mannimulus or "Man of Many Failures" in Keltish, but this myth held much more that myth.   With the destruction of the barrier, not only did the skies become vulnerable, but so did the underground. Trapped beneath the shattered barrier, Mannimulus continued his study of wurms, the enigmatic beings to which he was drawn. His ultimate goal: to escape the null zone and bring the wurms back to Kelt. As his influence spread throughout the land, his connection with the natural world resonated particularly strongly with the animalfolk.   Those who forge a pact with Mannimulus gain a glimpse of the ichor that courses through the wurms he cultivates. Once the pact is sealed, this otherworldly essence flows within the veins of the pact holder, marking their skin with intricate lines. As long as Mannimulus controls the wurms, his presence resides within the pact holder's body. His voice, haunting and filled with dread, whispers incessantly, and the pact holder hears the ceaseless cacophony of wurms feeding and breathing in the null zone. While this maddening symphony might drive some to seek release from their pact, others find themselves thriving in the midst of the relentless noise, as the bestowed power suits their nature all too well.
