Tomb of the Dragonslayers

"Within that tomb lies a plethora of powerful weapons and armor, including the Scale of the First Ones. I can't tell you what else - or who else - you'll find down there." - Lok, to the Heroes of the New Age

The Tomb of the Dragonslayers was the mausoleum where members of the ancient Order of Draconsbein were laid to rest. These members were also entombed with any and all of their battle garb.

Purpose / Function

The tomb was built to house the fallen Dragonslayers and their plunder from the greedy treasure troves of the dragons they felled.   The last Dragonslayers also implemented a series of challenges to prevent any unworthy individuals from stealing their valuables once the order came to an end. Their hope was that a capable warrior who needed to access their vast armory for a noble purpose would be able to do so, while unworthy grave robbers would succumb to the challenges.

Architecture

The simple mausoleum was constructed purely out of stone from the northern region of Ardulia. The entrance was a small, domed building with wide steps that descended deep into the earth. Empty sconces line the walls. The bottom features seven rooms in a straight line, six of which were built to facilitate a variety of challenges to deter all but the most capable individuals. The final room was a large hall built to accommodate the dozens of warriors who belonged to the order at this time in history.

History

In the year 10th century P.P.M. of the Prime Timeline, the Order of Draconsbein was at its peak. The tomb was more of a cemetery to warriors living at this time, and it was actively visited by those wishing to pay their respects to their fallen comrades or heroes. Little more is known about the history of this tomb and the order that conscripted its construction.   In the year 1751 P.P.M. of the Prime Timeline, the Heroes of the New Age infiltrated the tomb in order to secure the Scale of the First One. Inside, they completed the challenges its architects created and then defeated the Rainbow Dragon, Zyx, who was imprisoned within. Zyx respected the Heroes for their valiant combat and, upon discovering that he was the last living Rainbow Dragon, the Heroes spared his life, as he posed no further threat or challenge.
