waste vines

Vines that live in the Nevisent Wastes climb throughout the ruins and lands, creating a wasteland of sand and green, purples, and red vegitation, along with colorful nodes of crystals, skies of orange.   Born from mutations caused by the magical apocalypse, a few grasses which survived began to partially feed off the tainted and raw engeries released during the event, and ever since. The grasses became new life forms, and changed in the various vines found throughout the wasteland.   The vines come in a number of variations. Some have burrowed deep into the earth finding water and can be harvested for pure water filtered by the plants internal cell structures. The native Risklin figured out how to live harmoniously with these water bearing plant, being careful not to take to much water so as to prevent the plant from dying, and instead allowing it to regenerate and replenish its supplies.   Some are toxic and can kill, poison, or harm in various ways if touched or ingested. These variations are often different from the green vines, which normally are edible or water bearing. Instead they are reds streaked with red or oranges or yellows.   Some vines have become carniverous and hunt whatever prey comes nearby, from insect to humanoids. They will devour whatever they can get ahold of from the animal kingdom.   Other vines have begun to harness magic, and produce magical effects around the, normally for defensive reasons, others to help them acquire nutrients, and yet others can be harvested and turned into magical batteries or used as reagents.   Throughout the wastes are many other types of vines, some unique, and others sickly and on their way to becoming compost for other vines.
