This is based off of a short story I wrote which I am calling Aster's quest.   Aster was a normal boy living in a small village who dreamed of rescuing princesses and becoming a great hero. Little did he know that his life would take a turn in that direction when an unkown army appears and takes over the nation by force.   Aster begins his journey at the age of 16... but he could not imagine it would take him five years to finally complete it.   How will Aster's world view change? Will his motivations change as he continues on his adventure? What does it mean to actually be a hero in this kind of world?   Aster's quest will take him to dense forests and steep mountains, but also into his personal relationships with the people of his struggling nation.   Aster's quest is kinda supposed to be a more realistic approach to how fantasy adventures work, there is still magic, alchemy, sacred swords, and all that. But I also want to look into how a person would actually evolve and interact with others over a 5 year long adventure, or at least an approximation.
