The Museum of Four Elements
The Museum is a staple of the Sun District. Strong, elaborate and grand, it is built in a C shape. The shape invites visitors to pass into the open courtyard. There are trees in large pots but no grass, rather natural stone. A large staggered staircase is paralleled on either side by streams of water, the water travels down to a large basin onto elemental fire. A mist of steam clouds the door until visitors draw near, revealing the entrance. Guards of Clan Flamebeard stand resolute at the entrance, for it is that families charge to protect the ‘works of the ancients’, most specifically the last gyrocopter.
The museum is famous for its inventions, the ‘works of the ancestors. The ancestors each contributed one invention to secure the success of Karak-Khan. The invention of blast powder from Clan Orebeard, of the steam engine by Clan Flamebeard, of the city’s essential water systems by Clan Frostbeard. Finally the gift of the Gyrocopter by Clan Windbeard, there were once many but the knowledge to maintain them was lost in a fire. Now only one remains in the museum.
Architecture
All windows to the museum are raised off the ground by 8 ft and fitted with iron bars of varying rigidity
