Hunters' Wine

One the Hunters' Sojourn is complete and a new hunter is elected, the celebrational feast is prepared and they're treated to a situationally lavish meal and potentially massive amounts of this traditional alcohol made through alchemy and fermentation. This potent brew enhances the skills that have been mastered as a hunter and their innate ability to sense spherestorms. The more talented you are before becoming a hunter, the more it elevates your special senses.

Components and tools

The final major rite of passage to becoming a clan hunter is to consume a specifically prepared type of plant-based alcohol refined from stormweed that the participant personally harvested.

This usually produces several litres of the beverage which is served to the new hunter during their celebration for completing their training. The other hunters use special amphorae made from clay and glass If the hunter should fail or quit after this stage, the liquid is added to the clans' resources and used at a later time or for other purposes.

Participants

The hunters' wine is always made from components uniquely harvested by the hunter-in-training. The fact that a would-be hunter personally collected the materials is irrelevant and has no effect on the material gathered, but tracking and weathering your first spherestorm is always required before being accepted as a clan hunter. If someone manages to harvest all the required stormweed components on their first trip into a spherestorm they are always celebrated and other hunters will make toasts over the following nights to comemorate the ordeal and triumph.

Harvesting all the specific components required to properly prepare the wine is considered relatively simple but due to the incredibly fast growth/decay rate of the plants, distractions can make it dangerous if not entirely impossible. Once they've gathered and prepared or preserved the elements they need, the apprentice returns to the clan while the other hunters use the components, and a few 'secret ingredients', to create the alcoholic liquid fermented with fungal moss.
