First Goblin War
At dusk, an organized horde of goblinoids launched a multi-pronged strike against the Etude city defences. Striking simultaneously from three quadrants, north, north-east, and east, they occupied all available soldiers while a second, mixed covert unit of goblins and orcs struck at vulnerable areas as they developed during the battle.
The strike was sudden, likely intended to stagger the defenders so severely that an immediate counterstrike would be impossible. Shortly before mid-night a horn sounded in the distant north and the enemy fell-back and withdrew from the city like a tide, taking with them anything of value they could grasp, including people.
It took several hours for the leaders to organize surviving soldiers and militia and near dawn two battalions of armed fighters marched from the city in pursuit of the enemy force. Led by the now legendary Generals Morek Dean and Frisla Bannister, they spent the following years in persuit of the various bands of goblins that made up the force that attacked Etude. They tracked down dozens of goblin tribes and orc clans, slaughtering them for their participation in the attack.
By the time they received orders from the military leaders in Etude to end their campaign it was believed that the vast majority of goblin-kind had been eradicated from the continent.
The Conflict
Aftermath
After the siege and sacking of Medale, humans across Allegri became wholly intolerant of goblins and hunted every known mischief. This war made goblins the primary target for all human military aggression and their hyper-fixation let other threats slip past undetected.
