Kalltland

A world where magic is as vital as electricity is to ours. Where the spirits live as far away as the other side of a coin. Where a god could be hiding around any corner. The people of the Kalltland live in relative peace, disturbed only occasionally by rumors of strange creatures and unprecedented natural disasters, of the long-banished Wildemund Mages walking in daylight among the people of the south.   Long ago, a catastrophe divided the worlds of men and spirits, and much knowledge of magic was lost. Men live in ignorance of the forces that grant them their powers, and have forgotten the calamities that befell their ancestors who tempted the wrath of the gods. A reckoning is coming, however, and those caught unprepared will suffer a fate far worse than death.   Now, the fate of both men and spirits rests on the shoulders of a ragtag group of reluctant adventurers - a Journeyer Adept, trained from youth in the magic of the written word, a mysterious warrior who kills in the name of justice but cannot remember his own true name, a common boatman struggling to control the elemental powers suddenly thrust upon him, and a young woman on the run from the destiny that has pursued her all her life.
