Verglas Woods

The forest was gigantic, misty, and rich. Its canopy was contested by alder, dogwood, and oak, and abundant dancing lights bounced through their crowns for scattered sprouts to consume the moist and fertile bottom layer below. Quiet branches dangled from the occasional tree, and a medley of flowers, which were common to this area only, added more life in the otherwise uniform lower level. A discord of noises, most belonged to rummaging critters, echoed in the air, and were in harmony with the trickling sounds of a gentle river stream.
