The Elm of a Thousand Eyes
The Lonely Tree
In the middle of the Burram Woods is a small clearing with a large elm, known to various druidic circles as the Elm of a Thousand Eyes. It is believed that it is the burial ground of one of the old nature spirits that housed in Kaigan before The Shattering The clearing is only visible from the air and many different stories are told when airship passengers ask about the lonely tree.
Flora
While the Burram Woods houses a big variety of trees, bushes and other underbrush, there are no elms anywhere in the forest except for the ancient one in the clearing. As for the rest of the clearing, the whole floor is green with various species of short grasses and mosses, but nothing grows higher than ankle height.
Fauna
The clearing is, as far as reseachers know, the only space in Kaigan that houses blinkmoths. This moth species got it's name from their distinct eye pattern on their wings. These moths sit on the bark of the elm, making it seem as though the elm has eyes all around its bark. When the moths flap ther wings, it makes it seem like the eyes blink.
Druid circles
Almost all druid circles in Kaigan have some sort of connection with the clearing and with the elm in particular. For most druids it's a ritual to make a pilgrimage to the elm at least once per year. They believe that an old nature spirit by the name of Sho, has burried itself in the tree when the world was born and uses the blinkmoths to observe the world and the people in it, giving primal power to some inhabitants to better the land and protect nature

Myths and Legends
Because most druidic circles keep to themselves, many people who fly airships have developed their own myths and legends about the lonely elm in the Burram Woods after seeing it from the sky. The most well known of these myths is the one where the roots of the elm hold the earth in place as otherwise the ground would start levitating and eventually merge with the heavens above.
Another legend explains the clearing as housing tremendous amounts of residual primal power after The Shattering, making it impossible for most other flora to grow there. The Burram Woods have grown around the elm from the distance the primal power was diminished enough.
