While the people of Kaigan have come to expect cargo to travel in airships over the past years, this was not always the case and definitely always useful. The Bluebrand Trading Company is the oldest trading company that travels in Kaigan and is known for being the best when it comes to overland travel.

Overland Travel

While more cargo is being delivered by airship, the Bluebrand Trading Company dominates the overland trade. The biggest advantage for using overland travel is that it is possible to get everywhere that is connected by road. Contrary to air travel that is limited to bigger cities that have specialised ports for airships.

Cargo

The Bluebrand Trading Company will ship every sort of cargo as long as it is legal within Kaigan and both the pickup location and the delivery adress are accessible by road. This includes large shipments of resources and private letters and packages, but also highly specialised and guarded items and even people.

Different jobs

There are various jobs that can be done within the Trading Company. The two most important ones are carriage driver and guard, but there are also jobs with less travel involved.

Driver

The driver is responsible for driving the carriage and caring for the animals involved. This job requires a good knowledge of the different roads and towns across Kaigan or a specific region within Kaigan. The driver also handles social situations like interacting with clients for both taking and delivering packages.

Guards

Guards travel together with the carriages and protect the cargo from attacks and ambushes, both on the road as well as overnight. Guards work in shifts to provide the best protection for the whole journey. Guards also load and unload cargo when necessary.

Administrative jobs

The Bluebell Trading Company has offices in larger cities, these are manned by clerics who receive letters and packages that need to be sent places. They also make sure each package gets on the right carriage to be delivered to the right place as soon as possible.

The Bluebrand Trading Company is a family owned business, run by a family of half-elfs. The current owner is Radnar Bluebrand together with his wife Helli. The idea is that their daughter will take over the ownership of the company in due time together with her husband.
