Description: A simple multicellular clumping algae that uses a range of dark photosynthetic pigments to deal with long nights and get a little bit of energy from moon, planet and star light. It's not much, but it's an added edge. They cling closely to rock and flat fine sediment that is bound by biofilm, cloaking rocks and surfaces in thin purple-black patches.
Reproduction: It reproduces by growth and fragmentation (clones) but will ocasionally produce asexual spores.
