36 Tablair
Name: Tablair (Owner: @Coolkuy)
Descendant of: Thichair
Description: The diversity of algae has caused an increasingly growing problem: competition. Some get around this by floating on the water or creating strands closer to the sun, but Tablair has figured out a new strategy: stand up!
Tablair's mineralized support is thicker, although isn't fully mineralized. Instead, inside of the support are water storing cells to make the strands heavier and stronger. The strands are connected to a large mineralized oval where all the actual algae grow on. The center is where nutrients are exchanged from the rest of the body. The oval has hooked spikes over the top which help during its juvenile stage.
The strands have another purpose- fungi don't see them as worth any nutrients. So its great protection against them. Tablairs in Sea 1 secrete a slippery substance over the supporters, which prevent gastric descendants from climbing on them.
The juveniles grow upside down at first. The center's hooks grab onto the ground, which prevents it from falling to its strands prematurely. When the strands are fully grown, the hooks let go, and the organism sucks in water and stores them into the strands, which causes the organism to flip over.
Reproduction: It reproduces asexual spores from pores in their strands.
