17 Burspore
Name: Burspore
descendant of: Bursphage
Description: This mold specializes in sessile filter feeders with fine pores instead of gill slits for it's outer exterior, or those with a protective tube shape. It is very agressive and produces whispy, fine mycellium that gets right between even small cells and drains them. They produce antibiotic secretions that help protect it from immune responses.
Reproduction: Fruiting bodies covered gametes and a thin membrane holding them in burst and release the gametes in high volume. Individual fruits can be male or female, a complete organism can produce both male and female fruits. They generally burst in synchronization, though it's not always precisely accurate. Spreading of mycellium and fragmentation of the organism can also produce clones.
Food: Tubular or finely pored sessile filter feeders
