14 Tricuphone
Name: Tricuphone (owner @Coolkuy)
Descendant of: Tricufungus
Description: A simple fungus-like organism that decomposes and drinks up detritus with a mycellial network in deeper water microbial mats and biofilms. When exposed to open water, it will create two different types of fruiting bodies. One type (designated in the picture as A) can produce sexual and asexual spores, while the other (B) is physically incapable of producing spores. Instead, B's job is to record the chemistry of the water and chemicals around it, such as the water's salinity. When conditions are just right (which are normally different from community to community), B will stimulate A into producing sexual spores. Tricuphones, on average, are looking for extremely similar conditions from individual to individual, which results in a mass explosion of sexual spores. This massive burst of spores guaranteeds that two spores will meet, increasing genetic diversity and allows atleast a few Tricuphones to survive to sexual maturity and have their own offspring.
Reproduction: Tricuphone can produce sexual and asexual spores, releasing asexual spores periodically and sexual spores during mating season. Spreading of mycelium
Food: Deposited organic detritus
