11 Bursphage
Name: Bursphage
Descendant of: Sponphage
Description: A simple fungus-like organism that lives in the bodies of spongill and some of it's descendants. They form a very fine mycellial network that passes between cells of the sessile animals and soak those surrounding cells in digestive secretions. It directly attacks the sessile animals this way, eventually killing them.
Reproduction: Fruiting bodies covered gametes and a thin membrane holding them in burst and release the gametes in high volume. Individual fruits can be male or female, a complete organism can produce both male and female fruits. They generally burst in synchronization, though it's not always precisely accurate. Spreading of mycellium and fragmentation of the organism can also produce clones.
Food: Sessile animals (e.g. Shelfan, descendants of Sponshade, Valspon)
