Half-orc
Half-orcs are humanoids born of both human and orc ancestry by a multitude of means. Having the combined physical power of their orcish ancestors with the agility and intelligence of their humans ones, half-orcs are formidable individuals. Though they have been historically shunned in human (and sometimes orcish) society for a range of reasons, half-orcs have proven themselves from time to time as worthy heroes and dangerous villains, and in many cultures have come to live with humans not only in peace but also in prosperity, such as with the Kayemba.
Basic Information
Anatomy
Half-orcs are, on average, somewhere between 5'9" – 6'4" (1.75 – 1.93 meters) in height and usually weigh around 155 – 225 pounds (70 – 102 kg) making them a little taller and stronger than humans. Most half-orcs have grayish skin, jutting jaws, prominent teeth, a sloping forehead, and coarse body hair, which cause them to stand out from their human brethren, though their canines are noticeably smaller than a full-blooded orc’s tusks.
Genetics and Reproduction
Half-orcs give birth to live young. Half-orcs were originally the result of orc and human interbreeding, but are also the result of half-orc/half-orc pairs or half-orc/human pairs. It is also possible (although very rare) that a half-orc is the offspring of a half-orc and another race, such as a high elf or even tabaxi.
Civilization and Culture
Interspecies Relations and Assumptions
Half-orc relationships with other species are often difficult, thanks to the half-orcs close relatives; the orcs.
In some areas and cultures, half-orcs and orcs often live, breed and die together and can even come to form quite friendly bonds, such as with the Anaurochans. However, in other locales, half-orc groups (such as the Kayemba) came to detest the orcs, and as such have not interbred for many hundreds of years.
