Welcome to Johorne: Geography

Johorne is an entire planet, fully mapped by the current day. It's celestial being is very similar to Earth; ie, rotation speed, tilt, size, climate, etc. As such, it has many variances in local geography and weather.

Geography

There are several great "geozones" where certain geographical or terrain types are prevalent. For example, on the great central continent of Kolaskyva there is a great division between the east and west of the landmass by an enormous steppe formation known internationally as the the Central Kolaskyvan Steppes. This zone served not only as a cradle for many roving bands of nomadic peoples, but also isolated the Atelian and Rutheinian cultures on the west side of the continent from the Gerreggian, Arasian, and Llaelic cultures on the east side of the continent. There are great mountain ranges in Fripperland; running clear across the continent and dividing the north from the south, Kolaskyva; where in the east they serve to cradle the Gerreggian heartland and to isolate Amethia from the Gerreggians to the north, and in the west where they run along the length of modern Atelia.

Fauna & Flora

Many of the organisms found on Johorne are identical, or similar, to those found on Earth. It is likely that there was some terraforming done to Johorne in the past, part of this being to introduce a compatible ecosystem. Yet, there are some organisms which would be impossible to find on Earth; for example, Etha contains within its borders large flightless birds called Phorus', which are similar to Earth's extinct "Terror Birds," as well as literal non-avian Dinosaurs, such a small Hadrosaurs that served as war-mounts and sometimes plough-animals in past ages.

Natural Resources

On Johorne lay all of the material and natural resources that are found in Earth. Yet there are some perhaps, abnormal "resources" that are in use in Johorne. Among these are unique alloys constructed through secret measures and the access of something called the "World of Souls." This dimension is where magic is drawn from and allows Humanity to access the consciousness of large collectives of individuals.
