Chakra

Chakras represent the flow of energy and in some species, magic, within the body, as well as the connection regarding chi. There are seven chakra locations on the body, all resting in different areas. Though everyone has chakras and the ability to open and close them, only Maji and Arakeanee are profoundly affected by it. Sairs, Dreolds, and Alyrians have been known to practice chi.
Chakras
Each chakra has a purpose and for the Maji and Arakeanee species, deal with different types of energy, moods, and abilities. Unlike the Arakeanee, the Maji are born with all of their chakras open and depending on their element, must keep certain ones open at all times or risk death. Arakeanee must open all of their chakras on their own. If this is not done before the age of twenty, the age where their magic reaches full maturity, then they will most likely die.

Individual Chakras

The chakras are in order from bottom to top, as well as the order that they must be opened. Also note that the chakras differ a bit when it comes to their magical effects, for more information see Magic in Jiwenia.

Root Chakra (the Red Chakra)

This chakra is located at the base of the spine and grounds an individual’s energy to the ground. It is the first chakra that must be opened and deals with primal instincts and survival. The chakra controls the flight or fight instinct and if blocked, will lead to paranoia, depression, and fear. To properly balance this chakra, one must let go of their trivial fears and paranoia of such fear.

Sacral Chakra (the Orange Chakra)

The second chakra is located in the pelvic area and deals with feelings, creativity, and pleasure. The chakra concerns the creative expression of an individual as well as the satisfaction that they get from life and living. If blocked, it can lead to emotional problems, guilt, and compulsive or obsessive behavior. To properly balance this chakra, an individual should let go of their guilt as well as thinking through one’s actions before committing them, so that guilt can’t rear its head later.

Navel Chakra (the Yellow Chakra)

The third chakra is located at the stomach and is called the Navel Chakra though it’s also referred to as the Solar Plexus. This chakra deals with the personal power that one possesses, their self-confidence. This chakra can affect the feelings of confidence, joy, laughter, etc. If blocked, it can lead to uncontrolled emotions, shame, and a lack of direction. To open this chakra, one must accept themselves for who they are. To balance it, one must allow love and joy into their hearts.   This is by far one of the hardest chakras to open for many and is one of the easiest to close.

Heart Chakra (the Green Chakra)

The fourth chakra is located at the heart and acts as the bridge between the mind and soul as well as the spiritual and physical part of the individual. This chakra is the center of love, compassion, harmony, and ultimately, peace. If blocked this chakra can wield extreme dangers such as immune problems and turn the individual uncompassionate and inhumane, a darker version of themselves. To properly open this chakra, one must accept themselves, similar to the previous chakra. For balance, an individual should focus the love they have for others and give some back to themselves as well.

Throat Chakra (the Blue Chakra)

The fifth chakra is located at the throat and is used for communication, self-expression, and judgment. It is mainly concerned with the senses, ideas, and truth. It is blocked by lies, creative blocks, and general problems with communication. Loners will have a hard time unblocking this chakra. To open this chakra, an individual should refrain from lying to themselves and accepting themselves as they are. Balancing it is quite easy, as simply telling the truth can keep it open.

Brow Chakra (the Indigo Chakra)

The sixth chakra is located at the forehead and is promptly called the Brow and even sometimes the Third Eye Chakra. It is the sixth chakra that must be opened and the chakra of perception and knowing. It is concerned with inner vision and if blocked, causes depression and memory loss. This chakra is a bit deeper in meaning than the others. This chakra revolves around the idea that everything is connected and not one thing is more important than the last. To open this chakra, an individual must accept this ideal.

Crown Chakra (the Violet Chakra)

The seventh and last chakra is located at the top of the head. It is the last chakra that must be opened and is one of the most important, tied with the Heart Chakra. This chakra connects the body, soul, and mind to the cosmos. Opening this chakra gives complete clarity to an individual, the phrase “peace of mind” plays out perfectly here. Opening this chakra entails that one has to see themselves past their earthly limitations and ties and accept their status in the world. It is concerned with the mind, acceptance, and overall bliss. If this chakra is blocked, then it can manifest into psychological problems and can even upset the other chakras and connections.   Arakeanee who unlock this chakra are named Masters for this is the hardest chakra to open. A similar belief and title are given to monks.
