Personal history

Born a princess, He Ning was only two when her family was executed in a coup. Only the lowest of her clan and she were allowed to survive but they were cast out. The empire her great uncle had formed was forbidden to them and they were shunned by neighbouring countries.   He Ning grew up a starved and sickly child, living on the road, ever on the run. One by one, those few living family members died away until she was sixteen years old and sold off as a bride to a merchant from the Kingdom of Bei. Frail from the life of a beggar, she died little over a year later. The harsh winter of the north proved too much for her.
