Basic Information

Anatomy

Djinn normally look like men with red and orange adorning their features. Their skin is black, their hair is often tinted red, and their eyes can be orange, amber, or deep red. In general, red and orange are so dark as to easily be mistaken for brown.
They can also shift into another form. This form has two large tusks on the bottom jaw, which jut up. Hair turns into small flames. Finger and toe nails turn into massive talons. Their legs invert, like a goats. In this form, the djinn become a fire spirit and can fuel their own magic, instead of relying on local spirits for power.

Genetics and Reproduction

Djinn who produce among themselves or with the fire spirit G'desh create more djinn. Gestation is approximately 6 months, and it is not very difficult. While internal temperature increases during labor, the experience is not as shattering as it is for women.
Procreation with men is also possible. The offspring becomes blackamoor, a man already attuned to fire. If the djinn is the woman, then it is a six month gestation. If the human is a woman, then it's the regular nine months. Pregnancy for the djinn doesn't even raise their temperature in labor. For a human woman, it's the same amount of distress.

Growth Rate & Stages

They appear human until puberty. At puberty, they learn to shift into their djinn form. If they do not shift, they are labeled blackamoor.
Djinn age significantly slower. Young adult stage lasts until 50. They are adults until around 200. Middle age is 200 to 250. Old age is from 250 until around 300, when they die.
