Basic Information

Anatomy

The delven are short, humanoids. They have childish features, an overly round and large head, and big eyes. Their ears have a slight point, and their body looks to have a little fat, even the strongest and most underfed of them.
Their skin peels while out in the sun. If they go without a bath for two or three days, this peeling begins, exposing a mucus under layer which protects them from dehydration. However, it is itchy like an open wound, and the original peeling feels like ripping off skin. A bath heals this within an hour, but the healing also hurts, and it is difficult to not scratch at the skin, delaying the healing.

Biological Traits

Delven skin is black like oil.
Their hair is silver, though most do not have a full head of hair. They have a path or two. Only females can have a full head of hair, and then at most 5% of the population does.
Women are slightly shorter and thinner then men.

Genetics and Reproduction

Delven reproduce similar to men. They can only reproduce within the delven species. Gestation is around nine months.

Social Structure

Delven hold to old structures from their faith. There are prophets who help guide the people. Judges settle disputes.
In addition to this, there are merchants. Merchants carry news from one oases to another. Through mastery of navigation, they traverse the dangerous and painful desert.
These are the only three real positions within the society. There are other appointments of prestige, but they are rare. Anyone who is not anointed a prophet or judge, or isn't brave enough to be a merchant, is considered equal.
