Jerasea

The world of Jerasea is considered by many scholars to be a new world made by the gods. They are drawn to this conclusion from three very strong facts:   Fact 1, no one can remember or have stories of family lineage going back more than 10 generations.   Fact 2, much of the world is still unexplored and seems to be huge. Many of the explorers that have gone into these areas and return, very few are ever seen again, come back with stories of many different types of monsters; so the land seems not to be totally uninhabited but just not by civilized peoples.   Fact 3, Infrastructure is fairly light and crude. Only large cities have paved roads and many towns found in the fringes of civilized areas have little more than a trail linking them to smaller communities. That being said most large cities are on the coast lines or on larger navigable rivers. This makes the ships and sea going merchants very popular for getting around.   With all that said their are some people that believe Jerasea is much older than what people can remember. A very few adventures that have manged to return speak of cities in ruin that exist far into the wilderness. These stories are for the most part ignored because little to no proof has been brought back from those with these claims. It also does not coincide with the first fact mentioned above. To support this possibility the races of the dwarves and elves claim they can remember much further back in their family lineage but only they believe this to be true.   The race of man, humans to most of us, is the most common to be seen in the cities and much of the country side of known Jerasa. Outside on the fringes are communities of dwarves, gnomes, halflings and elves, there are even a few half-elves that come from the fringe communities, thou they are few in number. There is talk of other races from some of the explorers that have returned; most find these claims to be unfounded.   Even thou the appearance of the world is new the practice of magic is much entrenched in society. Magic users are not common but are revered by society and many are rulers of cities and towns. The Clerical arts are also practiced and are somewhat more common than the arcane arts, yet very few clerics are known to govern towns or cities. The mystery of the following of the druidic arts is very rare and if found are definitely. at the fringes of society. Most people do not even know what a druid is let alone that they actually exist.
