Eternal Song

The eternal song is sung by a choir of nine priests to the sleeping, physical embodiment of the god Litel, a god that oppressed and ruled the Catfolk before 7396, when this extremely powerful charm was devised. It can only be performed by at least nine experienced priests of the Decharrod. Though Litel is now very weak, a cult of Litelites have always been present throughout the many years, thus keeping the malicious deity alive, and always managing to avoid capture and disbandment with the assistance of Litel. It is seen as a great honour to participate in this song.

History

The Decharrod, specifically Quilzahil (Catfolk God of wild magic) worked with the priests of Catfolk to bring about the end of Litel. Though combined the seven gods of Decharrod have extreme power, it wasn't enough to challenge and defeat Litel, who was still worshipped out of fear. Instead, they devised a highly powerful charm that could put a god to sleep - but it would have to be sung, by several devout followers of the Decharrod, constantly. If just one of said priests ended the charm, then the god would awaken, and be immune to the spell eternally. This is why there is typically at least twelve priests singing the charm at any one time.
