Ruins of Pecatli
The city of Pecatli was known for its grand temple, which boasted three great spires for the three aspects of the sun. Built into a mountain plateau looking out over the river below, visitors must first climb a multitude of stairs and ladders in order to take in the majestic sight from the city's entrance. This was seen as a pilgrimage point for many Sun Empire inhabitants decades ago. The spires have long been toppled, but the diamonds, emeralds, and rubies said to have crowned them have never been found.
Pecatli was known for it's religious influence, and all of the Empire paid tribute to it's priesthood, resulting in grandiose temples and massive hidden treasures within it's secret vaults. During the Merfolk uprising against Apatzec Intli I, the city was lost during and has never been reclaimed.
