The Archivic Ivaltan Calender
The standard calendar system widely used throughout most of the civilized world. Each of it's four mensi coincide with the realms' seasonal shifts.
Visielum - 135 Days, The Season of Frost
Aurus - 124 Days, The Season of Rejuvenation
Victrum - 120 Days, The Season of Stability
Eylea - 128 Days, The Season of Decay
The Archivic Calender presents the occurrence of a 'Gap Anua' once every seven cycles. Hereby any such anua have an additional day in the Victrum Mensis. This accounts for the Septenial alignment of all three full moons, which completes a naturally occurring vitalic construct that halts aspects of temporal flow, and prevents the seasonal shift. This occurs on the 98th of the mensis, and lasts a full day before the construct is rendered imperfect once again due to the celestial bodies' natural temporal attunement weakening from misalignment.
Historical and Functional Context:
The standard Archivic Ivaltan Calender was developed by the Primordial Entity Archival, and was befittingly named after him by those who adopted it subsequent to him gifting it to mortal kind in hopes of establishing cultural order. Archival developed the calendar in accordance to the exact motion and behaviors of all localized celestial objects. The calendar system was formally adopted and recognized by most intelligent civilizations, according to said calendar, in Anua 27 through the Proclamation of Ephemeris. The Advent of Renewal thenceforth marked the first Anua. Any historical event that occurred prior, should such records exist, were part of the archetype era of Entropy ke Imortalis (E.I.), were recorded in terms of 'Pre-Anua,' and are based off the present calender's time-frame. Whereas dates subsequent to the Advent of Renewal are part of the archtype era of Harmona Victus (H.V.) and documented in terms of 'Anua.'
The original copy of the calendar is inscribed within a living crystal, made by Archival himself, and is presently located within the Shrine of Passage. The crystal acts as a living document; Outlining not only the structure of the calendar, but also detailing celestial motion and vitalic patterns that occur in relation to the calender's time-frame. Furthermore, it also acts as a repository for historical data, allowing those who posses a certain keystone, generally granted to them by Archival, to inscribe events and information throughout the crystal's timeline records.
To this day, countless non-magical copies of the basic calendar have been created for common use.
