While there is much conjecture and ambiguity about the origins of the Earth upon which we walk, a consistent, if bare, story can be stripped from all the similarities between the various accounts.   The Terrestrial Realm came under the guardianship of the Celestials. The Solar Deity established himself as the king of both the Celestials and everything within the Terrestrial Realm. Another Celestial, the Lunar Deity, acted as a viceregent to oversee and uphold the interests of the Celestials (it should be noted that the common justification is that the starlight at night overwhelms the images of the Celestials as they gather to convene, hence why the Lunar Deity acts as the overseer of their intercommunication).   The Dawn Goddess sprang up when there was life on the Earth to witness the sunrise. After some interference by lingering Dire Minds - arcane entities that had been largely destroyed or absorbed by the Celestials after an ancient war - the Solar Deity saw fit to spawn a great host of solars that would take care of the Earth, and keep nature as it should be.   At first, the solars did their work, and the burgeoning wights worshipped them as nature deities. However, over time, the Solar Deity became either reserved or lethargic, and his change infected the solars as well. They started to fade into nature, entering dreamlike states of semi-existence. The constant absorption and regurgitation by the elements eventually caused most of their aether to dissipate, and their souls departed from their spirits, but both forms remained. The souls, however, were cursed and became either reincarnating monsters or hidden items of great power.
