Ithellon

Ithellon is a world of scattered continents floating along vast oceans. The topography varies greatly between areas among continents. The world as a whole is mostly unexplored, though the three continents that make up most of the Free Lands are sparsely settled. Small villages and large towns dot the landscape, with a few strongholds and castles built in strategic choke points. The Free Lands have enjoyed peace as of recent years; but tensions are growing, as a threat from the northern tip of Drezilath begins to take form.
The world of Ithellon is ancient, having been ruled over by many pantheons of gods. Most are now long forgotten, but some remnants of their temples still plague the world. The current pantheon operates as a bureaucracy, often getting mired down in meetings and procedure in their astral plane before intervening in the material one.
With most of the Ithellon left unexplored, and ancient temples housing mystical secrets, there are endless opportunities for those brave enough to take up treasure hunting or adventuring. As well, mercenary work and bodyguard duty are also easy enough to come by, with the unexplored world being plagued with eldritch dangers. Few would be foolish enough to travel without protection.
