Welcome to Iterative conjunction realm

Greeting players

The world of Isla, which means island to some, was a fairly mundane and familiar place. The empire of Beloved Worship or Vandana Ceron, which is an inside joke as they do not worship much of anything aside from maybe progress, was the preeminent scholars of the age and cultural conglomerate of assimilation. They had founded many centers of learning and coordinated trade traversing the multiple continents of Isla. The mysteries of world beginning to take shape through their collective research and discovery. Their towering ships were the crowning achievement of their society which enabled their dominating trade to touch many societies world wide.

Unfortunately, change occurred twenty years prior and does not seem to correct itself or find a comfortable equilibrium. The celestial recorders noted an alignment of the heavenly orbs that dot the sky and some predicted an eclipse of day orb, Vandana and the darker cousins, verdant Lutana and magenta Zyrrah. The alignment occurred and reality seemed to shatter. Members of the populace began manifesting their inner desires or found an ability to shape reality to their will. This new influx of unknown powers caused countless accidents. The superstitions of the populace seemed to gain a life of its own inspiring fear and an insurgence of more traditional beliefs re-emerging to combat the evils opened upon the world. Tears and openings to other places seemed to emerge in the remote areas away from mortal settlements. New creatures and other sentients were suddenly introduced to the world. The biggest disruption was on the oceanic waterways. The currents not only carried water warmth or cold but also time seemed to become untethered from the forward momentum. A gamut of watercraft and sky bound oddities ranging from ancient galleys, longboats, loud triangular streaked the sky, and other strange monumental creations came from nowhere or so was reported by those who managed to return. The navigation devices reliable in the past offered no direction and most vessels never returned to land. The survivors returned shaken with tall tales more so than their usual boisterous ones.

The Empire's response was to prohibit naval travels, enact a new metal ministry department, focus efforts to land based trade, and a division of public relation to provide comfort and direction to the populace. The upheaval of society lead many to stay within the city grounds and begin to adopt a denial of anything outside of the normalcy which was encouraged by the authorities. The new department of acquisition would attempt to locate individuals displaying aptitude in the mystical manifestations. The order of Crystalline eye, a new department in the academia, filled in a role educating and focusing these savants. Eventually they developed a headband that would leave an invisible eye tattoo on the forehead of those who manifest these new abilities. Crystalline eye can be used to determine how adept the practitioner was ensure safety to society. Devices were engineered by the new Ember creations created barriers that kept the urban areas more grounded and free of the magical disturbances of the countryside and multitude of new inventions to increase the comfort of society.

The countryside did not have the safety of the cities. Disappearances and banditry became commonplace. The woodlands became dark foreboding living places. Some transforming into dazzling alien landscapes that confuse the mind and draw unsuspecting victims in to never be seen again or come back changed. Many villages became nomadic and reverted to old practices before the 'unifying' empire's influence. Some communities formed warbands to either provide safety or take what was needed for continued survival. Other communities even found treatise and harmony with influx of new beings. Rumors of the desert city of Aloport was lost in the new musical shifting sands. No contact to the other continents of Isla since the disruption of oceanic trade and travels.
