Human God of Dreams, Memory, and Loss

Dreams are a funny thing, said to be a look into a person’s deepest and darkest secrets and fears, and no one understands this better than Aedelea. They oversee the Dreamlands, a plane shaped by the dreams of all those who sleep, and keep any errant secrets and thoughts that a person has, even if that person does not remember them. A select few claim to see Aedelea in their dreams, though given their mercurial and mysterious nature, no one could say for certain.
Aedelea is a tricksy being; along with dreams, secrets and loss are part of their strange portfolio. Aedelea thrives on not just the discovery of secrets, but also on secrets remaining secret; it is said that they will dig up ancient and lost knowledge, only to immediately to destroy it, just for the thrill of being the only ones to know about it. Some have theorised that perhaps Aedelea is doing so not out of a sense of fun, but rather to hide away dark secrets that could ruin the world if found.

Aedelea's symbol, fitting his mercurial and ever-changing nature, doesn't have much in the way of consistency. Some symbols show a colourful mass of shapes, others depict a sleeping figure, and others still show a mask with hard to identify features.

Do not let your dreams merely be dreams. Chase them with all your heart.

There is no shame in losing things. Sometimes things need to be lost to understand their true value.

Physical Description

General Physical Condition

Aedelea is mercurial and ever-changing, but there are consistencies to their appearance. They are normally depicted as some kind of androgynous humanoid or strange animal, with a notable consistent aspect of all of their forms being that the top of her head is missing, with a black and white smoke emanating from the void where the empty space is.

Befitting their domain of dreams, Aedelea can be both whimsical and terrifying in equal measure. They encourage their worshippers to chase or pry into both their own dreams and other people's dreams, stating that all dreams, no matter how abstract, do have some kind of deeper meaning.
As the God of Secrets and Loss, Aedelea represents the acts of concealing and obfuscating knowledge and information, as well as revealing secrets, though its reasons for doing to are difficult to understand. Aedelea does not adhere to any obvious rhyme or reason, and commands their followers to both find secrets and hide them in equal measure, and sometimes Aedelea's orders will change on a whim. It's not uncommon for Aedelea to ask their followers to find a piece of secret knowledge and then test them again by asking them to destroy it, to keep it truly secret.

Worshippers of Aedelea

Aedelea’s worshippers are a scattered bunch, and for the most part are not easily identifiable. However, worshippers seem to have a sixth sense for identifying other worshippers, greeting each other as old friends even if they have never met before. 

When they do gather, they tend to worship in abandoned buildings and groves, far away from the eyes of others. What those services entail isn’t always clear; sometimes they have been seen burning documents in a pile, other times there have been reports of a group of worshippers simply sleeping in a pattern.

Clergy

Worshippers of Aedelea do not often wear adornments to indicate their worship in public, instead doing so only when performing their services in secret. When they do, they adorn themselves in multicoloured veils that cover the upper half of the face, and seem to have an ability to mask the voice.

Speech

Aedelea is remarkably difficult to converse with, methods to do seeming esoteric and strange. When people have conversed with them, Aedelea's voice is akin to a whisper. When they speak to someone, the last or most important word will have synonyms repeated alongside them. For example:

"Tell me your name/identity/personhood"

"We specialise in dreams/delusions/hopes that are born of peoples’ minds."

When angered, however, Aedelea’s words will be peppered with insults:

”You are a thorn/blight/insect in my way”

History

Aedelea and Neresa are gods that contrast each other greatly, so it is no surprise that the pair do not get along. Neresa sees all knowledge (both public and secret) as being necessary to catalogue and store, to make that knowledge known to the world. 
However, Aedelea’s desire to obfuscate and destroy secret knowledge runs counter to that; Neresa sees Aedelea as a constant, aggravating thorn in her side that needs to be dealt with, whereas Aedelea sees Neresa as little more than a killjoy who needs to learn what does and doesn’t need to be known.
