Kesserin Tu'rainen is the Scion of House Tu'rainen, one of the noble houses of the Kingdom of the Galasthin Elves. He is the eldest living child of his line, having outlived his two elder sisters, and was named Scion in 5614 in the midst of the Purge. He is a common and very noticeable sight on the streets of Melaeden, owing to his bright hair and even brighter clothing.
In Galasthin's political scene, Kesserin is being groomed by his father to take over the family's traditional roles in managing Galasthin's borders and administrating the northern reaches of their country. He is expected to work closely with nobles of the other Houses, and has already completed 15 years of service in the Alu'thaniel - which has granted him a healthy respect for his fellow mages. He is well-acquainted with Commander Lyadrí An'thimael despite his seniority over her, and finds it entertaining to cause issues that she will inevitably have to deal with.
Kesserin is currently engaged to two individuals, and in a relationship with one more. The individuals in question - Imleriel Al'danissil, Heureven So'varinthe, and Maeve Gelderan - are close friends of his, and the romantic relationship they share is fully mutual. His parents full-heartedly approve, and are glad to see him finally settle down - particularly as Imleriel has recently announced her pregnancy.

Kesserin is a surprising example of a sort of warlock - a mage who shoots bolts of elemental power and who utilises less common spells. His is a rare school of thought, and one that he has studied hard to make a reality. He has a number of abilities tied to this base class, but prefers to surprise his foes with them rather than having them be openly known.

Apparel & Accessories

Kesserin is usually seen in bright and clashing colours if not wearing the colours of his house - platinum, brass, and purple. He enjoys making a statement with his clothes, and even pairs his formal robes with bright jewellery and magical accessories that make him hard to look at.

Kesserin was born as the third of three, and was certainly spoiled as the youngest child for a time. He grew up in the lap of luxury, wanting for nothing and learning to act that this was indeed the case. All who knew him as a child describe him as an utter hellion - even around the other Scions, many of whom were close in age. Talindë Ae'tharis and Runaia In'tharon were some of his closest-age playmates, and both of them have hilarious stories to tell of his antics - whilst Talindë does not like to share much, Runaia is ever willing to explain all the details of the many pranks he had pulled on or around her.
The first major shift in his personality came during his initial lessons and training when a lesson was interrupted by the scream of his older sister, Jastiriel Tu'rainen. He was the first to reach her, and thus the first to witness that she had been impaled on a demon's sword in a summoning accident gone very, very wrong. Thankfully, he had backup in his wake - it could not save Jastiriel, who clutched his hand as she passed, but it could save the other students who had born witness to the disaster.
Kesserin was quiet for a time after, and grew clingy. He grew very close to his elder brother, and as his younger brother and sister were born, developed close relationships with them as well. He attempted to befriend much of Galasthin's population, even those living in far-off towns he rarely visited; because of this, he spent a lot of time darting through elf-gates and writing letters. He set out for his own adventures six years after reaching adulthood, and travelled for 13 years. Initially, his travelling group had consisted of himself, Imleriel, and two friends: Orthion Ul'tumael, another elf from Galasthin, and Vixxa Fixxel, a gnome from nearby Soniuch Zan.
Over time, that changed - they recruited Heureven after finding the elven man had been enslaved by a group upon the Tulaant Steppe, and Maeve joined them on a brief mission in Sunadar. Their group became eight in Tsukirai with the addition of two humans - Yoshino Kaori, a witch, and Teruya Jun, a former guard - and if Kesserin had not received a missive from his father begging him to return, he would likely still be travelling to this day.

His party followed, surprisingly, and took on contracts around Galasthin instead. As time went on, they steadily retired from active duty and set up their own homes.
The group split in two - Vixxa, Orthion, Jun, and Kaori travelled back to Tsukirai, where they settled down in a home the party had won there, and Kesserin returned to his homeland with Maeve, Heureven, and Imleriel.

His romantic relationship with the trio began quite by chance, after an adventurous night out at the bar, and was at first simply himself and Imleriel. Only after Heureven admitted his attraction in a later game of Truth or Dare did the group expand to three, and it was another few months before they asked Maeve to join, too.

The Purge was a major turning point in Kesserin's life. Whilst he had accomplished rather a lot in between coming home and the beginning of the Purge, it was the Purge that finally took his elder brother from him. He ascended to the position of Scion in the middle of the conflict, still in disbelief at his brother's kamikaze tactics. The elder Tu'rainen had intentionally collapsed a large section of the Underdark on himself and a large drow host - killing many, but saving lives.
Kesserin threw himself into the conflict until its end, after that. His loved ones stayed out of it, but worried for him: he was not himself until a year of peacetime had passed by, and even then-- even now-- there are times he is not alright.

He worships the Elven Pantheon with a preference for the chaos-loving Calistria. He particularly enjoys the freedom of love and lust that Calistra espouses, and as his enemies can attest, prefers her vengeance over peaceful Seren's calm words.

Mannerisms

Kesserin gestures constantly as he speaks, always being animated and quite high-energy. The exception is if he's caught staying up too late - it is in these moments of insomnia where he is calmest, almost becoming melancholy as he stares into the stars and towards Seren's Light.
