West Merchant Guild

A guild based out east beyond the Azure Desert it calls itself the West Merchant Guild as they often carry their goods out west. 
This guild controls the multiple desert trade routes that cross the Azure desert and offer guides to those seeking to cross the sands and offers protection to those merchants who are with the guild. They carry exotic goods such as long-lasting foods such as Durians and offer silk threads made for many noble garments. It has become incrediblely wealthly as the Empire of Timara as traded with this guild and has alllowed its members to travel to its port cities to sell its wares to foregin merchants and in the cities themselves. 
Very few traders who work across the sands stay in bussiness for long if they are not apart of the guild as these groups are often attacked by bandits who take advantage of their less armored caravans. There is only one that has managed thus far. 
The merchants pay dues and often outsource to the guild for this and the guild takes a perchantage of their earnings as well. Both sides benefit from this and has allowed the guild to negoiate with other foregin powers even the Timaran Empire for better deals because of it.  There are some complaints from within the guild about how much it takes but most merchants rather pay them and make money instead of making them their enemies. 
The guild is very strict with any trade secrets and will often throw money at a problem to make sure it does not become a permanent obstacle to them. Throught their wealth they have become one of the premiere guilds and even have a home in the trade city of Arkthaz as well. Their motto is "We create paths paved in Gold"
