Session V: Revival Report

General Summary

Our party's celebration of the death of the War Chief are short lived, as they realize they need to also escape the fortress. Unfortunately, they're on the top floor, and have a dead body on their hands. With some quick thinking, Nerdle uses some of the rope in her bag and throws it over the side of the building as an escape route. Most of the party makes it out unscathed, but when it comes to Charlie, carrying a dead body isn't necessarily going to make climbing down that easy. So, he takes a risk and jumps down the 4 story building. By some sort of miracle, he was able to land with no permanent damage or scarring. The party darts into the woods nearby and then heads back to Streamsteel, in hopes of reviving L. Once the party reaches their destination, Charlie decides to stay in the forest, as to not bother the rather unsavory folk. Arlo helps Nerdle carry L to the church, in hopes the priest can help. Elel mentions to L that there's a tavern nearby, and that she wants to take a well deserved break. Arlo joins her, and before Nerdle can interject, the two are already off. Nerdle asks the priest if he can revive L, almost begging for him to help. He says that after a few glances, that it's possible to perform a revival procedure. Nerdle asks what would be required to pay, and the priest responds that none is necessary, as they have helped take down the orc threat.   After a suspenseful hour or so, the priest walks out of the room, looks up to Nerdle, and says, "He's back." Nerdle rejoices, and asks if she can talk to L. The priest nods, and leaves the two to discuss. L explains to Nerdle his experience while he was dead. He had met a tall elven goddess, and was apparently in Shavulaa. He asked the goddess about himself, and his purpose, why his memories were lost. First, she explained his mission: to eliminate the seeds of Hundii. The goddess explained that he was the son of one of her most devoted patrons, hand picked by her to help fight the Dreadful Seven during the events of doomsday. However, just as she is about to tell L his true name, a dark cloud enshrouds L's vision, and a deep nasally whisper inside his head. "Mmm... I think it is best to leave your lineage a secret... to tantalize you in a desire, trapped in despair..." The goddess asks what's wrong, and is shortly stunned, passes out, and so does L.   After that, L shortly woke up in the room he was in. Nerdle took a while to take it all in, discuss what this meant with L. They ate the rest of the pie and bonded in trust. L suddenly shot up, remembering the promise he made to the tavernkeep in Blackwalk! He and Nerdle, thanked the priest, and left to grab Charlie before going to Blackwalk. Charlie was sleeping by a tree, and was quickly woken up by Nerdle. As they traveled back to the city, L asked Nerdle about what type of flower he should give to the barkeep. Nerdle responded that the white flower - Medina's Padgem - is a symbol of love and deep caring. L, knowing Nerdle has spent a lot of time studying nature, decided that it was probably a wise decision.   They reached the city safely, and traveled straight to the Alcoholic Elves. As soon as L walked in, the barkeep perked up, delighted. L and her had an amorous exchange, whilst Nerdle and Charlie sat back as a third and fourth wheel. The barkeep asked L to dinner, and he agreed. Nerdle volunteered to help cook the meal for the two lovebirds, but soon regretted her decision.   As L walked out, they ran into Mark Allis, who asked them to the castle to claim their rewards. L received a helmet, and Nerdle acquired a battle axe.   They went to the tavernkeep's house, and as L and the tavernkeep sat at the table to continue their earlier chat, Nerdle and Charlie went to the kitchen, and met the tavernkeep's daughter, the one who made the pie. Nerdle made some food, the daughter asked about adventuring, as it was one of her passions, and Charlie just kinda sat in the corner. The food was soon ready, and they all enjoyed the delicious meal.   L then brought up to the tavernkeep, who finally revealed her name as Ungoi Rannish, that he would have to go all the way out to Höduin to take down evil that lingered there. Ungoi was reasonably distraught, but understood his mission. He then mentioned that other than Höduin, he would have to travel to the New Realms, as well as go to the bottom of the ocean at some point. Ungoi stared blankly. What L did not know was that he was already in the New Realms. He laughed at his lack of memory, and asked where a good source of information may be to take out the evil here. She mentioned that Ripedel Kingdom is not too far, and is a lot larger than Blackwalk. L thanked Ungoi, and set off to gather the other 2, who were probably still wasting themselves at that bar in Streamsteel.
