Scrolls on the History of Merek Bas

The Scrolls on the History of Merick Bas is a collection of scrolls and texts of first hand accounts about the history and life of Merek Bas, recovered by Scott Anderson and Cygo \. First hand accounts of his life are extremely rare and hard to come by, due to the length of time since his death, as well as the purging of records done by The Engineers. This details some of the primary moments of his life, and a great deal of research is being underdone to verify what they say, and update our current understanding of Merek Bas. The scrolls do contain a credit, stating "The history of Merek Bas is preserved by the Order of the Church of the Fire." It is believed due to the age of these scrolls and the content provided, the 'Church of the Fire' they are referring to is the historical preservation devoted to keeping records of Merek Bas's life, and not the more recent 'cults' that have formed using the same name.   These scrolls were initially found by Brother Brinkin in a small Sadallian cave. Brinkin lived there for nearly 40 years, obsessing over the scrolls, finding what he believed were hidden messages wrote in complex forms off illusory script/Spellcant, and keeping a disorganized and chaotic journal of his findings. He interpreted these cryptic messages to be instructions to raise and army and collect followers to bring about the 'Fire to Scorch the World', and those who 'survived the fire would be ready to bring the world into a new, advanced age of Epic and Unlimited Magic.' Brinkin then went on to attempt to raze the city of Bas in an event known as Scorching Sadall, where Brinkin and his cult were stopped.   The Scrolls on the History of Merek Bas were later discovered in Brinkin's cave by Cygo and Scott Anderson. After some deliberation, the scrolls were given to Master Ruin, and now are in the possession of The Mages, and are being researched for their historical significance.
