The Jade Fly's Energies

The Ellavara usually fancy to use a combination of magic and nature so it is not surprising that their power system would be any different. So in the beginning, they used all sorts of power. Fire, magical fire, and even solar energies but all of those either did not prove powerful enough, or the energy was exhausted too quickly. But it was then that they found that an indigenous species, formally known as the Jade Fly, that produced raw magic by just eating. So the Ellavara set to work at developing a generator of sorts to enclose the Jade Flies safely and humanely while still able to harness their energy. After many failed attempts, they finally constructed a habitat that made the Jade Flies thrive and produce vast amounts of energy in the process. The Jade Flies in this environment actually produce more as in terms of magical auras than the flies did in the wild. A popular reasoning as to why is that in these habitats the flies are well fed and, as a consequence of domesticating them, they happened to be very friendly to people. So a home habitat of Jade Flies that are well cared for with attention and food can power a household without problem for even the houses that expend vast amounts of energy, like tradesmen or sorcerers.
The Jade Flies look like flying green gemstones from a far that light up when they have eaten. But up close they have a head that is the size of the tip of quill and four legs, two on each side. They are mostly silent except from the fluttering of their wings and when speaking to other flies they make chirping noises to one another. When they land on someone, they will usually feel light tingles along their skin because of the magic they naturally radiate. They are omnivores for the most part but their favorite food is fruit, specifically Moon Dew fruit.

Utility

This is used mostly to power housing but it can be used for more mobile devices, like in caravans or a mobile kitchen.

Access & Availability

The Jade Flies in the wild are abundant and therefore the availability of power to all Islemarian citizens is inexpensive and practical.
