Diravela Norenn

The Great Explorer Diravela Norenn (a.k.a. Dira)

This Ellavarian woman is credited for successfully mapping out the land of Ellavara, Thaydor, and Telka. Where there were maps that were already drawn for these lands, Diravela found most of these maps inaccurate or in need of an update. So she took it upon herself, meaning no help from the Anvyrn family, to correct this inaccuracy in order for the land of Islemaria to grow. She meticulously charted out each land, making her entire journey to be about five years. She worked primarily alone but received help from the denizens of each continent and got a large portion of help from the Gwyth. After her five-year journey she requested the audience of the King and Queen and her she presented the new maps. The King and Queen were impressed that she not only took this task mostly alone, but she did it with no aid from the crown. They tried to reward her with payment but she refused. All she wanted was just credit for the map and promise to keep it updated from then on out.

When she was credited for her in depth maps she found that there were a lot of people interested in traveling with her. So she went on numerous excursions with like minded folk in order to make new discoveries and enrich their understanding of various cultures. Soon after she organized a league of explorers dubbed the Pact of the Cartographers. This organization is still running even after her death in 650. This pact has become integral even before her death with the group earning a cabinet seat in the Anvyrn Era.
