Cat
Personality:
Cats are inquisitive, clever, quick witted, and are the most adaptable, flexible, and the most ambitious people among the common races. They are diverse in their tastes, morals, customs, and habits.
Physical Description:
Cats of Aviat are split pretty neatly into two factions: Those who live under the rule of King Ossigeyer tend to live in the mountains, and as such have adapted to the rough, uneven terrain. Accipities cats are mostly grey or brown, though some variation does occur. They are strong, but wiry, averaging only about a foot to a foot and a half tall but weighing between 9 and 13 pounds/ They are among some of the best jumpers. Those who live under the rule of Queen Helena are the most peculiar by cat standards. Because they rarely hunt on land, they tend to have the brightest colorings and the most bold markings. They are lean and of all the cats, the smallest, usually topping at 8 or 9 inches and just three or four pounds. They are almost always shorthaired. They are also one of the few cats that enjoy wearing woven fabrics and shiny baubles and have been known to trade monkeys for particularly fine pieces.
Relations:
Those who live under King Ossigeyer hunt freely within the bounds of his lands, though they respect the boarders of Eufala and Chiron. Anyone who enters the kings domain is considered acceptable prey. Though they have no negative opinion of the Chiron Cats propensity for adopting strays, they are not in the habit of doing it themselves. Cats of Accipities have the smallest family groupings with some families consisting only of a mother and her four or five children. Those under the rule of Queen Helena, in contrast to their mountainous kin, have some of the largest families of any of the cats, with families easily consisting of three or four generations all working together. They are among the only cats who build their own shelters and make goods. They are typically bright eyed and diurnal as they subsist almost exclusively off whatever they can catch in the water. Cats of Eufala are excellent swimmers. They are also the loudest and most boisterous of cats.
The most powerful and well known family of cats in Aviat is the Goldenpaws clan. The matriarch of the Goldenpaws is known for her negotiating and swimming skills.
Alignment:
Cats of Aviat tend to have much looser structures than other cat families and thus are commonly chaotic and neutral.
Language:
Feline tongue and Chirp automatically.
Bonus languages: Canine, Vulpine, and (in Eufala) Thrish
Names:
Male names: Rowl, Maul, Sasekrir
Female names: Nymez, Mirl, Sece
Adventurers:
Cats are natural born adventurers, particularly in young adulthood. It is common for young, boisterous cats, old enough to hunt on their own, to be sent out into the world to learn a thing or two before returning to the family to take their place. Until they have returned home after this trial, all cats have a Kitten name, they do not gain an adult name until they have taken a place within their family (or a new family).
