Bat
Personality:
Bats tend to be shy at first then downright chatty once they've gotten use to someone. Gregarious and proud, bats have taken it upon themselves to champion the arcane arts and the studies therein. They can be pretentious at times, but rarely are they purposefully cruel. Bats tend to think of themselves as having a better understanding of the world order than most species.
Physical Description:
Bats, for the most part, are exceedingly small. Rarely do they exceed six inches, save for their day-time cousins, the giant fruit bats. Bats come primarily in shades of brown and black, though pockets of bats exhibiting brilliant white and startling silver do exist.
Relations:
Bats live in enormous, bustling colonies. As such, a lone bat is either quite mad, or quite lost, and equally often, both. Bat society has a very loose structure that yields to those who are the best at magic, which leads to a fairly egalitarian society.
Alignment:
Bats are flexible in nature, but equally logical. Though they can come in any alignment, they tend towards neutrality.
Language:
Bats get Squeakspeak automatically.
Bonus languages include: Chirp, feline, and vulpine
Names:
Male names: Batty, Zaff, Ulfred
Female names: Kala, Maeve, Nessa
Adventurers:
Bats are not naturally adventurers because of their need for society. But even a bat can feel wanderlust. Such bats are typically given a number of tasks by one or more older bats who need precious ingredients they aren't willing to leave the community to get themselves. Bats never travel alone if they can help it.
