A shimmering liquid dances in the glass, a shifting swirl of delicate glistening motes. The silver of it catches the light as the barkeep pours the magical liquid into the depths of a tankard of Dwarven Mead. The amber liquid shifts to a swirling mass of liquid gold as the barkeep wipes the counter and calls out to the crowd.

The tavern becomes silent as a hefty Dwarf walks to the bar and hefts the tankard. The barkeep weaves an intricate leather strap around the Dwarf's hand and his drink before slapping him on the back and saying in a low voice, "Luck be upon you, my friend."
Those in the tavern watch as the Dwarf brings the tankard to his lips. A second passes before he disappears in a cloud of glittering smoke.

The Magic of Fairy Dust

Fairy Dust is a magical liquor that is created under the light of a waning moon during the months of winter. This magical brew, originally created by the Ancient Fey and their trickster ways, has slowly become one of adventure and excitement. Based upon the other alcoholic or non-alcoholic beverages that the swirling silver liquid is mixed with, interesting effects may occur.

Dwarven Kind

Recipe

• 1-8oz glass of Fairy Dust
• 1-Large tankard (30 oz) of Dwarven Mead

Mix briskly with a barley straw until the liquid becomes liquid gold in color.

Effects

Fairy Dust of the Dwarven Kind will teleport the drinker to the forges of the Great Furnaces upon the first drink and fill their belly with a warmth that can only be found while working at the forge. Upon emptying the tankard, the drinker will be returned to their original location.

Elven Kind

Deep Blood Red or Glittering Snow depending on the wine used.

Recipe

• 2oz of Fairy Dust
• 1-Wine Glass (12oz) of Elven Wine

Pour the Fairy Dust into the glass much as you would pour the wine. Softly swirl the glass and let the two mix before giving the drink a moment to breathe.

Effects

Fairy Dust of the Elven Kind will teleport the drinker to the boughs of the highest trees in the Elven Forest. The magic of the forest and its Aelinor Oaks will swirl around, brushing skin, as the wine is slowly savored. Upon the last sip, the drinker will be returned to their home, often with a feeling of wanderlust.

Giant Kind

Recipe

• 2oz of Fairy Dust
• 4 - 6oz of Geyser Whiskey
• Ice
• Sliced Citrus Fruit

Add the Fairy Dust to a glass of ice. Top with Whiskey and garnish with a slice of citrus fruit to taste.

Effects

Fairy Dust of the Giant Kind will grant the drinker visions of the great tales of the Clay Giants and their Shamans. These visions will last long after the glass has been emptied, so drinkers must be prepared for an evening of storytelling.

Recipe

• 2oz of Fairy Dust
• 2oz of 2 different Fairy Liquors

Pour the liquors into a glass with ice. Shake vigorously for one minute, Strain and pour over fresh ice.

Effects

Fairy Dust of the Fey Kind is the most unpredictable as the effects are dependent upon the mixture of the various liquors. Some drinkers have reported being teleported to the Feywild or to a fountain somewhere in the Fairy King's Wood, but accounts widely differ. Most barkeeps and tavern owners warn against this drink as it is not for the feint of heart.

The steam swirls in roguish tones, but when the drifting steam becomes the white of pearls, the brew is complete and the magic of Fairy Dust awaits those who wish to test it.
